Congratulations to Sarah Nock who now owns
Smoke A Lani, sired by Jays Smokin Story and out of Lani Smoke. "Spider" has recently changed hands, but competed at the Fenland Quarter Horse Shows with Tanya Rowe and came home with a huge number of prizes. Spider is a typical Jays Smokin Story "child", easy going, with lots of try and plenty of ability and it shows with her results. This Jay daughter won the Reflections Windows sponsored Junior Trail Circuit Award, the Green Pleasure Circuit Award, was reserve champion in the Tailgator sponsored Junior Western Pleasure and was also the Farnam Fenland All Around Champion of 2011. Congratulations, Spider is a great advertisement for her sire. Spider has also qualified for numerous AQHA championship classes in 2011.
Congratulations to Linda Joynes and her
Classie Jay. Bred and trained by Sovereign by Jays Smokin Story, CJ as he is known at home is a wonderful horse, with exceptional ability in the Reining arena ridden by David Deptford. We think we're right in saying that CJ has not been out of the top 2 in all of the classes he has been shown in this year.
Congratulations to Jackie and David Teideman with their Jays Smokin Story daughter
Jays Dene. "Jay" is out of a Sovereign bred mare that David and Jackie bought from us a few years ago. The 2010 AQHA UK Amateur Pleasure Champion, Jay and Jackie won the Dorothy Coleman sponsored Snippnbelles Star Amateur Halter High Point, with husband David winning the Laddie Jay Quarter Horses sponsored Open Halter High Point Championship. Jackie gets on tremendously well with Jay winning an Amateur All Around award earlier in the year. Jays Dene has qualified for numerous AQHA UK Championships in 2011
Congratulations to Tracy and Nathan Haynes, their Sovereign bred and trained Jays Smokin Story daughter,
"Jays Centrefold" has been collected Junior Pleasure points all year. At the Fenland show, a 1st and 2nd in this even under the two Judges had both Nathan and Tracy smiling. "Angel", a former AQHA UK Reserve Supreme Halter champion has been lightly campaigned at shows but is consistently earning those AQHA performance points and has qualified for the AQHA UK Championship in Junior Trail in 2011.
Congratulations to Vicky Rooke with her "Smokin Smart Jay". Smartie as he is known at home has competed consistently well this year - Vicky's first in AQHA competitions.
Congratulations to Kate West with
Easy Jay Olena - Dougal as he is known at home is one of our Jays Smokin Story and One Easy Chic sons. He is a full brother to the well known "Story of Smoke". Kate, who is registered blind, came to us a couple of years ago for lessons. She then got the Western bug and wanted a horse. After careful consideration, we sold her Dougal. although he was only 3 at the time, we like to think we know our horses, and we knew that as a Jay son, he would be calm and easy going, but also be able to help Kate where necessary, even at that young age. We're delighted with Kate and Dougals progress, they've been competing in AQHA events this year as well as our SQH classes. They are a great partnership and we're proud of them.
Congratulations to Avril Wilson with
"Story of Smoke", the elder full brother to Kate's "Dougal". "Smoke" has been with Avril since he was a three year old, and although we started him, Avril has carried on the good work initially under the guidance of David. Smoke and Avril have this year qualified for numerous AQHA UK Championship classes.
Congratulations also to Ruth O Reilly with her
"Poppett Smoked A Jay". Another former AQHA UK Supreme Champion, Ozzie has made his mark in 2011 in both the Halter pen and the performance arena.. Ruth has a full brother to Ozzie at home..
Congratulations to Amanda Griffiths with her
"Jays Whiskey Girl". A yearling daughter of Jays Smokin Story out of Snippers Mito Bella. "JD" has been racking up the blue ribbons in the yearling halter classes in 2011. We know with her breeding she's going to be an awesome horse.
Congratulations to Nigel Crowe with
"A Snip Of A Jay" "Homer" is the apple of Nigel's eye. It's fabulous to see Nigel and Sheelagh with Homer as they love him dearly, and Homer thinks they are wonderful too. Homer, who was bred and initially trained by us here at Sovereign, is another former AQHA UK Supreme Halter Champion and is still the AQHA UK Poster boy with his photo of the new membership leaflets. We were delighted to see Nigel and Homer at the Fenland show in June and loved the relationship they have. Homer is a great ambassador for the versatility of the American Quarter Horse, and the Jays babies...
Why are our horses so successful? We are very lucky to have a longstanding breeding programme in place, we know our mares, and we know our stallions, the horses we breed and sell we know will do the job they are bought for. Whether it be as a family horse, or a horse that you show, or both. You can be sure that you are buying tried and tested quality when you buy a Sovereign horse
