What a glorious day! Judge Elise Scully had a difficult choice today with a very good entry in the Prelim class. Jane Carter on Imogen won both the Prelim and Novice with Sarah Jayne Cooper hot on her heels for second place in the Prelim. Gemma Lutwyche, who now has three horses qualified for the Prelim Championship came aboard Magic, and picked up a third place with Horse Creek Farm's Amy Deptford riding the Quarter Horse Stallion Jays Smokin Story in 4th place - she also qualified for the Championship, but whether Jay's busy reining competition schedule will allow him to compete at the finals remains to be seen. Sarah Deptford and Sovereign Hobby Doc strutted their way to a 5th place in the Prelim with Linda Golding and the wonderfully cheerful True Blue picking up a 6th place rosette.
In the Novice class, Jane Carter aboard Imogen scored very well to win, with Gemma on Magic taking second place, and qualifying for the Novice Championship. Priscilla Robinson on Henry came in in 3rd. It should be mentioned that Victoria Berrisford on the lovely stallion Oceano XI rode H/C and scored 62% with Jenny Martin on the eye catching Venerable again riding H/C scoring 66.4%.
We had a great day, and look forward to seeing you all again in June.

Our second unaffiliated dressage competition judged by Clare Day was a great success. Unfortunately the local council had removed all the direction signs from the roads, so we did have a few problems with people not able to find us initially, however, Judge Clare Day was great and allowed us to shuffle the running order around to accommodate everyone.
With an increase in entries in both classes the Prelim class was won by Jane Carter riding Imogen, scoring 64%, with Gemma Lutwyche on Lord Louis hot on her heels with 63%, in 3rd place we had Alice Newling riding her very nice horse Barney. As Jane Carter and Imogen had already qualified for the Championships in August, the qualification rosettes, generously donated by Carol Davies and Excalibur (Fudge) were won by Gemma and Alice.
In the Novice class, we had a real treat seeing Jenny Martin riding Venerable completing the test side-saddle (and H/C). Jane Carter with Imogen made it a clean sweep by winning the Novice with 63.7%, with Gemma Lutwyche and Lord Louis and Alice Newling and Barney tying for second place close behind with 62.9%. All three are our first Novice Qualifiers.
Congratulations to you all - we look forward to seeing you all in April.
