Fenland Novice and SQH Show - April 15th
Liz Smith & Sandra Mitchell
Over 30 horses competed at the final of the SQH Winter League on 15th April, we'd added this show to a Fenland AQHA Novice show and were thrilled with the results.   Over 30 horses and riders came to compete, nearly 150 class entries on the day.  Our Judge Bob Mayhew did a great job judging large classes and always having a smile for every competitor, and he even shared his giant packet of rolos with Ring Steward Mick Carder!

Congratulations to Emily Sands with Smart Snippa Chic and Sandra Mitchell with Im Sassy Story who won the Show 4 High Point Award in Youth and Adult respectively of a Sash and Rug.

Charlotte Cripps & Emily Sands
The overall Winter League high point award comprising of £100 sponsored by D Harrison Metals, a sash and a rug went to Sandra Mitchell with Im Sassy Story for the Adults, and Charlotte Cripps with the evergreen Sir William for the Youths.   William has now been coming to HCF for many years, with different riders, he is a true superstar as he has taught the three youngsters that we know of, great western riding skills.

The reserve Winter High Point Awards, comprising of £50 from D Harrison Metals were awarded to Liz Smith and Reminic N Snip for the Adults, and Emily Sands with Smart Snippa Chic for the youths.

Congratulations everyone.  The results for the show can be view HERE

SQH March Show Results
Well, the weather wasn't great, but we were inside and the welcome from Horse Creek Farm to all the hardy competitors on Sunday 4th March was the usual Horse Creek Farm Warm Welcome.   Sweeties to all on arrival and lots of prizes on offer for this third show of our winter series.

Competitors were in for a treat at this show, as our SQH shows are meant to be fun, informal and informative, Judge David Deptford was able to talk through patterns with competitors and give them feedback and coaching after their classes.

We'd like to thank everyone who came, and also to thank the lots of spectactors who came to watch this show, along with the new girls and boys for whom this was their first SQH show, from feedback received, they enjoyed the event and we're hoping to see them back again for the last of our winter series on 15th April.  This show is also an AQHA Novice event, combined with the popular SQH classes, with a pre show training day on Saturday 14th.

Congratulations to Liz Smith with Reminic and Snip who won the Adult High Point Prize at this show and Charlotte Cripps on the evergreen Sir William who won the Youth High Point.

Looking at the overall winter highpoint standings, at the moment, Barbara Bell on Peppys Banjolena leads the adults, with Liz Smith and Sandra Mitchell hot on her heels.   Charlotte Cripps leads the Youth High Point at this time.

Look forward to seeing you in April!

What people say about our SQH Shows....

"Just thought I would send a little note to say what a great time Sassy and I had at the show.

Whilst there were not many of us due to the adverse weather conditions, the day actually turned into a Master Class for those of us lucky enough to be there.  We had excellent warm up tuition from DD (sending instructions across from a great distance!) and brilliant feedback from Judge Sarah after each class pointing out where we did well and where we could have picked up a few more points.

It was not only a very nice social gathering but also a massive opportunity to learn, which is usually the way of it at Horse Creek farm be it a little informal show or big important affiliated one!  It was great to see friends there and I know for a fact that we were all thrilled with how well our horses went.  Thank you for taking the time and effort to run such shows as these, it is much appreciated.  Roll on Spring and Summer!"  SM - competitor at Feb 2012 Show.
