2010 Fenland Quarter Horse Show
Wow!  What a weekend!  The Fenland Show held at Horse Creek Farm was another great success, great horses, great people, great atmosphere, and great fun! 
The Sovereign Team and clients were busy and we were thrilled how many horses bred or trained by the team here were placed.  We'd like to congratulate the following people on their great results at this show.

Sarah and Amy Deptford with Hannah Bernstein.  Hannah competed in Junior Trail as well as the Nov Am classes with Am, she placed in the top three in her first ever Showmanship class as well as earning great places in Horsemanship and Western Pleasure.  Hannah is a truly versatile mare and a true all arounder.

Avril Wilson with Story of Smoke, who was in the top flight in the Youth classes as well as placing well in the Senior Western Pleasure classes.

Avril's father Lester did well in the reining, winning classes, and David rode Cheryl Hewson's SES Chic Playgirl to a second place in the BR Limited Open.

Both David and Sarah were busy in the reining arena with Blazin Chic Olena and Chex Out This Action respectively.  David winning a big class on the Friday, and then winning the AQHA All Ages Reining circuit award aboard Blaze.










Client Camilla Calverley-Halford with Wranglers Teeny Lena rode really well to win the Nov Am and Amateur Circuit Awards.  Congratulations.

In the Halter Classes Sovereign horses continue to dominate.  Ruth O'Reilly's gelding Poppett Smoked a Jay winning his class each day and going Open Reserve Champion.

Colleen Gates and Lee Mitchell's big gelding Stop That Jay won his Aged Gelding class on Sunday taking the Open and Amateur Grand Championships.

SQH Secretary Lindsay Doel's horse trained by SQH, LJ Classic Luke won the Grands on Show One and ultimately won the Laddie Jay Open Halter High Point Trophy.

Rhian Pearson with the Sean Dillon youngster Cashtastic also showed well in Halter and Showmanship.

In the Mares Halter classes, Joyce Markham's Heir To A Cady went Grand Champion in Show One in both Open  shown by Patrick Hopgood and Amateur, with Dorothy Coleman's Snippnbelles Star going reserve Grand in Amateur in Show 1. 

Show Two saw Jays Dene, another Jays Smokin Story offspring winning her classes and going Grand Champion, and winning the Snippnbelles Star Amateur Halter High Point Trophy sponsored by Dorothy Coleman.

Tracy Haynes' three year old Jays Centrefold made her ridden debut at this show, placing 2nd in the Junior Western Pleasure class out of 4 each day under David Deptford.

Both Amy Deptford and SQH Secretary Lindsay Doel donned their Showmanship hats on Saturday and Sunday with Amy earning a 3rd and a 5th and Lindsay a 2nd and 1st, ultimately winning the Rhinestone Nov Am Showmanship  Trophy.

Congratulations to client Mick Piggins, who hasn't been riding for a great length of time, he partnered Parrs Forty Winks to 1st place in the Unaffiliated Walk Jog Horsemanship on Sunday to take the Equine Chronicle Circuit Award.

Fiona Leask with Zero Turbo Charge won the Sean Dillon Offspring Award for the second year running, having tied for first place with Hannah Bernstein and Sarah and Amy.  On the tie break, TC took the trophy home with him for 2010.

Linda Joynes lovely gelding Chief in Command made his debut in the green pleasure placing very well out of a large class with Patrick.

His full sister, Hobbys Cutie with Elizabeth Curtis also placed very well over the weekend.

Amy with Nu Smoke N Chex was a popular winner in the Nov Am Reining on Friday.
